The Amerisafe Group is a national, full-service, Safety Consulting, Occupational Health, Industrial Hygiene and Confined Space Rescue company. We are currently seeking a Field Safety Advisor based out of the Greensburg, PA office.

Interested Safety Professionals should apply: Construction Project: 400,000 square foot distribution warehouse for one of our clients. Involving Precast walls, steel erection, etc. (Please Note: Travel Consultants are also being considered) Per Diem $140 a day

Project Duration: Now through April 2023; Beginning November 18th 2022

Hours: Monday-Friday 40 hours a week (DAY SHIFT)

Responsibilities vary by project site, but in general:

  • Deliver safety training to employees.
  • Provide risk assessments and training to reduce risk.
  • Make safety observations and identify potential OSHA violations and safety hazards, unsafe behaviors and document mitigation recommendations.
  • Present safety information to employees and management.
  • Communicate with external resources such as hospitals, local fire departments, and rescue teams so that the proper emergency personnel are available.
  • Review incidents and reports and document them using the proper forms and protocols.
  • Understand the use and need for various safety devices and protective equipment.
  • Lead workshops and interventions to improve safety behaviors and equipment usage.
  • Inspect machinery and safety equipment to ensure their proper operation and workers' protection.
  • Develop client relationships and look for new business opportunities.

Requirements:

  • Completion of drug and alcohol reasonable suspicion training.
  • CPR & First Aid Training Required
  • Training through American Red Cross, US Bureau of Mines, or equivalent.
  • Must be trained in using AED defibrillators.
  • Bachelor Degree in (Safety Management) from an accredited Safety Program with a minimum of 3 years relevant safety and health experience in the field; OR
  • Board of Certified Safety Professionals (BCSP) designation: CHST, ASP, or CSP with a minimum of 3 years of relevant in field experience with designation; OR
  • OSHA 510 Certification for construction within the last 24 months and 3 years of relevant safety and health experience in the field.
  • The Site Safety’s primary role is to act as a safety partner with all construction workers. The Inspector shall assist with safety training and preconstruction planning meetings with the contractor. The Inspector shall review the site and the work in progress for areas of improvement and to facilitate a safe work environment.
  • Weekly Site Safety Reports shall be prepared by the Site Safety Inspector. The Weekly Site Safety Report shall be a comprehensive safety report that contains at a minimum an evaluation of the following:
    • Personal Protective Equipment (PPE)
    • Housekeeping
    • Ladders, hoists, lifts and scaffolding
    • Electrical
    • Fall Protection
    • Excavation / Trenching
    • Fire Protection / Prevention
    • Tools & Equipment
    • Occupied and Confined Spaces
    • Safety Orientation and Hazard Communication
    • Exemplary safety performance
    • Any safety issues or close-calls and a summary of what steps were taken to address
    • JSAs/JHAs performed
